UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ, February 4, 2002 - NoFire Technologies announced today that its A-18 NV Fire Protective Intumescent Coating has been selected by the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ to protect munitions canisters containing 60 millimeter explosive mortar cartridges.
The coating is part of a three year, firm fixed price contract awarded to Day and Zimmerman, Inc., Parsons, Kansas. The total estimated value to the government for 60mm procurement is $54 million. As a subcontractor supplier, NoFire Technologies, Inc. will provide its A-18 NV coating for this contract, beginning in the spring 2002. The NoFire coating provides superior protection against heat and fire to the mortar cartridges with no impact on the environment or normal handling.
